“My eyes met yours, in love I fell,
You would be mine forever, who could tell.”
Indian weddings are colourful affairs and are known for their pomp and show. Moreover, what better place to find a soulmate than in such a vibrant gathering. Chaachis and Maasis, keep on pestering you with questions like when are you getting married, while you are busy eyeing the bride’s sister. Today’s story is based on Priyanshu and Soumya, who met at Soumya’s cousin’s wedding. Their eyes met and sparks flew. For Priyanshu, it was love at first sight. In Priyanshu’s own words – “Your beautiful eyes had me mesmerized making my little gray matter work overtime to find ways to charm you.” Soumya, believes that their love story isn’t like a fairytale as it involves two real people with very little in common. But as we say, opposites attract; they were deeply in love soon enough. After their first meeting, they started talking more and more and grew fonder of each other, every single day.
“You have captivated my heart with all your charms,
there is nothing more comforting than being in your arms.”
Soon after, they decided to spend their whole life together. But it wasn’t going to be the easy part. Love marriages, are still looked down upon in Indian society, even if it happens within the same caste. Their parents didn’t agree to the match. But Priyanshu and Soumya were determined, and finally their parents had to give in to their wishes after three long years. It was a difficult time for this couple, but all that matters is that they emerged victorious. Not every love story meets its desired end. But Priyanshu and Soumya were fortunate that their determination and efforts moved every obstacle in their way and now they are together forever.
“After overcoming all the hurdles, I am yours at last,
and will always be, till death tears us apart.”
Priyanshu and Saumya got married with everyone’s blessings in January,2015. Their wedding seemed right out of a fairytale, Soumya made a breathtaking bride (Priyanshu couldn’t stop gushing! 😉 ), while Priyanshu was the happiest (luckiest, as well) groom, I have ever seen. It has been one year since they got married, but the magic of love refuses to fade. Life seems a never ending holiday for both of them, now. Here are some beautiful shots from their wedding-
I wish this vivacious couple all the best in life. Keep smiling. Keep loving! <3 <3
