Love at first sight! This phenomenon is quite heard of; and in some rare cases, also felt. I have always wondered, what does it actually take to fall in love. For Dr. Atul – an Indian army Captain and Dr. Ishita – a dentist, 2 people from completely diverse fields; all it took was a stealthy glance at each other. Presently, they are happily married. You must be thinking that it might have been a love marriage. On the contrary, it was an arranged marriage. A wedding portal played the matchmaker for them. See their beautiful story unfold below
One fine day, Atul and his family came to meet Ishita and her family. By that point of time, Ishita had rejected a few suitors as she didn’t find them compatible. Moreover, her expectations from her future life partner, were few and quite simple. Ishita was keen on opening her own clinic, and continue working after marriage. Her work is her passion, and it is not easy enough to abandon something you feel passionate about. In a life partner, she looked for a certain level of understanding and comfort. (Atul fulfilled all these parameters ) When Atul and Ishita saw each other for the first time, there was something that attracted them to each other, instantly. When they conversed, they realized that both of them had all the qualities the other wished for. Ishita could see the stark difference between Atul and all the suitors she had met till that day. Atul was different. He respected her freedom and her career ambitions. He had no problem whatsoever, if Ishita wanted to fulfil her heart’s desire. Instead he respected her courage to stand up for herself. In Ishita, he saw this brave and independent girl, willing to clear all roadblocks to fulfil her dream. This was the beginning of a new phase of life for both.
Both of them were perfect for each other. So, the match was agreed upon and a date for the wedding was settled – 6th June 2015. There was plenty of time before that, for the couple to get acquainted with each other. Frequent conversations made them fall in love with each other, more and more. There were some moments that Ishita recalls, which bring a smile to her face. On the Valentine’s Day before marriage, the romantic doctor Atul surprised his ladylove with a proposal and a ring. This moment was quite special for Ishita. When it came to wooing the beautiful lady Ishita, the charming doctor left no stones unturned. There was this incident that made Ishita, furious. Once Atul told her that he is a really good artist and that he was making a sketch for her. Ishita asked him to send over the sketch, which to her surprise had an exact likeness to her own appearance; but, alas! it was a photoshopped one. (But it was a really sweet gesture on Atul’s part to undertake such a venture 😉 )
THE WEDDING PLANNING
After a lot of postponement, their wedding shoot finally happened. This shoot was quite long-awaited. It happened in one of the most hottest months of the year-May. The couple had several apprehensions that the heat might ruin the shoot, but they decided to go ahead with it anyway. It turned out quite well. Lucky Photography was hired to do the pre-wedding as well as the wedding shoot. CP and Hauz Khas Village were the locations for the shoot. The photographer had asked the couple to come down at 5 in the morning, for the shoot. Ishita got up early and asked her to-be groom to hurry up and reach on time, as she expected him to reach late. But, it was Ishita who reached late for the shoot, somehow. It was severely hot, but in spite of that they had a really good time; the photographs vouch for that 😉
Looking for a venue happened to be hassle free. Ishita’s brother saw to this, with the help of Zoviti (a website that is the one-stop solution to all your event planning woes). The Silver Spoon, Ghaziabad was booked for ‘Sagai’; The Sarovar Portico, Mahagun Mall, Gurgaon was booked for ‘Roka’; and The Mapple Emerald, NH8 was booked for the wedding ceremony.
The couple shopped for their wedding rings together, while the shopping for the wedding was done individually. (for some things are better be a surprise 😉 ) For her wedding trousseau and bridal attire, Ishita shopped from Frontier Bazar, Rajouri Garden; while Atul shopped at South-ex. They both looked splendid at their wedding.
Separate invitation cards were printed for each occasion and were sent to the guests, with a box of chocolate. The beautiful cards were printed at Jashn Wedding Cards, Vaishali.
The beautiful bride, Ishita was adorned by Mehak – a freelancer, who is really deft at her work. She did an amazing job and made Ishita, the cynosure of all eyes.
Last, but not the least, Amit choreographed several dances that were performed at the wedding. Even the bride’s parents couldn’t refrain from shaking a leg, and amazed everyone by their performance.
All in all, the wedding was a huge hit. The couple dazzled and stunned the crowds. A good planning is always crucial to an event being successful. Ishita and Atul enjoyed their special day. Ishita felt her mehendi ceremony was quite simple and could have been better. This is something she would like to change, if she could go back in time. Apart from this, the wedding was a beautifully planned, successful affair. Hope this was helpful to all the readers who plan to marry soon or to those who have a wedding in their family. I wish Atul and Ishita all the best for the future. Lots of love! <3 <3
