Destiny plays a great role in uniting two people of diverse attitudes, which is evident by the story of Dharmendra and Sumeera. During the first year Engineering exams, Sumeera bumped into Dharmendra and was sure enough that her exam wouldn’t go well; it is considered a bad luck charm to run into someone whom you detest so much; that too, at such an auspicious occasion – EXAMS. Their fathers were in Air Force and batchmates, too. But Sumeera and Dharmendra hadn’t met before, until they enrolled in the same Engineering college at Nagpur. They couldn’t see eye to eye, but destiny had something different in store for them. Both of them were poles apart. It seems they had signed a secret pact where they had agreed to disagree. They were members of the College Department Committee and there was not a single topic on which they both agreed. They had totally different views and none of them intersected. Sumeera and Dharmendra happened to have some common friends. On friendship day, Dharmendra, decided to be friends with Sumeera (after a lot of persuasion from their common friends). But Sumeera thought that Dharmendra was up to one of his pranks, so she simply refused. She took a little bit time and persuasion to open to the idea of a friendship with Dharmendra. Once they became friends, they started talking a lot with each other, which was quite unusual for Dharmendra, who refrained from conversing with girls. This friendship brought a sea change in this attitude as he became the life of Sumeera’s gang, which included 4 girls; like a ‘kanhaiya’ among ‘Gopis’.
Later, the couple went to the same college in Pune to pursue their MBA. Both of them totally freaked out in this new setting but they at least knew each other, which brought them immense solace. After finishing their MBA, both of them were placed in Mumbai. Though they worked in different companies, they never lost touch. They kept on meeting and confiding in each other. In the course of 2 years, they grew fond of each other and were ready to spend their lives together. Breaking this news to their parents wasn’t tough as their parents were already acquainted with each other. The couple tied the knot on 22nd November, 2015. The wedding was an elegant affair and the bride’s joy and the groom’s charm were contagious. They love each other a lot and have disagreements as well; but agreements-disagreements, all the same; prevent life from getting monotonous. Sumeera recalls this moment from her wedding that is really amusing. Sumeera is quite a sentimental person and has a lot of friends. She makes it a point to attend all her friends’ wedding. She felt really strange and longed to attend Dharmendra’s wedding functions, on account of him being a really good friend. When Sumeera’s parents came to know about her desire, they laughed it off. (Now, here’s a really curious bride! 😉 ) During the pre-wedding shoot, both were really shy; but the photographer Vishal Raina made them feel comfortable and the photos turned out to be awesome. The wedding was more than perfect and for Sumeera the most special moment was the ‘sindoor-dana’ ceremony, and she recalls how perfectly Dharmendra applied vermilion to her parted hair, not like the usual messy ‘sindoor-daan’ ceremonies. But there was this moment from the wedding that Sumeera found really annoying; after the ‘jaimala’ ceremony, when all the eyes were glued to the bride and groom, Dharmendra – the prankster; looked at his beautiful bride and started contorting his jaw and making funny faces.
Wedding planning is always the painful part of conducting a memorable wedding. Each and every aspect of the function was planned meticulously. The wedding arrangements and planning were undertaken by the couple’s parents.
The wedding was held at Country Inn Suite, Chattarpur, which was a superb venue. The arrangements were fantastic and lent more charm to this beautiful event.
Chandni Chowk is a hotspot for the wedding-shoppers. The bridal lehenga was purchased from Chandni Chowk, while the attire for the engagement ceremony was pre-designed by a boutique in Tilak Nagar. The wedding attire reflects elegance and great taste.
Vishal Raina, who is associated with Knot Just Frames and Photomantar Choomantar; covered the wedding and pre-wedding shoot. The pictures were splendid and a memory for life.
The bridal makeup was done at Lakme, Vasant Kunj. Sumeera felt really special because they also decked up her mother, who looked breathtakingly beautiful.
All in all, the wedding was a total fun package. Not only the couple, but also the guests enjoyed themselves immensely. Sumeera feels that she was taken for granted earlier, but post marriage, Dharmendra has turned out to be a really loving and caring husband. Dharmendra, also feels really lucky to have Sumeera in his life. Both of them complete each other. I wish this gorgeous couple, all the best in life and more splendid times ahead! <3 <3
